                        To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48)

 

Bishop Spalding recently quoted this Bible verse at a Diocesan meeting, emphasizing we are held responsible for what we have. If we have been blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, time and the like, it is expected that we use these gifts to benefit others.

 

It’s a timely message because we need your help!

 

Every year since 1998, the NCBWL has raised money to fund the Aurelia Varallo Mariani Memorial Scholarship, which provides tuition assistance to one girl for all four years at each of the three local Catholic high schools: St. Cecilia, Father Ryan, and JPII.

 

The scholarship is funded through the annual Pearls of Wisdom Scholarship Fundraising event. This year’s event will feature a brunch and auction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 11 at Richland Country Club.

 

We ask that you support this effort in one or more ways:

  • Donating gift certificate(s) with a minimum value of $25 for our silent auction

  • Buying a table or individual ticket(s) to attend the event (invitation to be mailed in August with RSVP directions)

  • Contributing a large gift valued at $2,000+ for our live auction

  • Becoming an EVENT SPONSOR, with customizable promotion opportunities beginning at $1,000

  • Volunteering to serve on one of our committees:

                       -  Invitations (assembly/mailing)          -  Set-up and/or clean-up (day of event)

                       -  Auction support-runners (day of)      - General auction items: pick-up and delivery
