About our Scholarships:

The NCBWL provides scholarship assistance to a female student at St. Cecilia Academy, Father Ryan High School and Pope John Paul II High School for their full four years of matriculation. Scholarships are awarded once every four years based on quality of academic and community standing as well as demonstrated financial need. The NCBWL funds scholarships mainly through the proceeds from its annual fall luncheon, silent auction and fashion show.

The next scholarship will be awarded in the following incoming freshman class school year (please inform the school admission office directly of your interest):

* Fr. Ryan High School 2014-2015 academic year
* St. Cecilia Academy 2015-2016 academic year
* Pope John Paul II High School 2015-2016 academic year

2011 NCBWL Awards Scholarships at St. Cecilia Academy and Pope John Paul II High School

The Nashville Catholic Business Women's League is proud to announce that two deserving young women will be its scholarship recipients at St. Cecilia Academy and Pope John Paul II High School for the next four years.

Brannan Davis from Overbrook School will continue her studies at the Dominican Campus at SCA.  She likes Social Studies and History as well as volleyball, drama and art.  Her parents are John and Mary Davis and the Davis family attends Cathedral of the Incarnation parish.

Elizabeth Bender, recently a graduate of St. Pius School, will be a freshman at JPII this coming Fall.  She attends St. Pius X parish and has an other brother already enrolled at JPII.  Her parents are Jeff and Mary Jo Bender.

The NCBWL funds scholarships for young Catholic women at all three area Catholic high schools. The NCBWL awards its scholarship at each school once every four years and provides support for all four years of high school. The scholarships are named in memory of Aurelia Varallo Mariani, a 1951 graduate of St. Cecilia Academy.

The NCBWL funds its scholarships mainly through the proceeds and patron donations relating to its annual luncheon, silent auction and fashion show.

2010 NCBWL Awards Scholarship at Father Ryan High School

Abby Grover has been named the recipient of the Nashville Catholic Business Women’s League (NCBWL) scholarship at Father Ryan High School. She is the daughter of Margie Francescon Grover and George Ellsworth Grover. The scholarship is awarded based on academic, extra-curricular and other personal qualifications. Abby graduated from Christ The King School in Nashville and is an incoming Freshman at FRHS.

Abby was recently named to the freshman volleyball team at FRHS. She also hopes to compete in basketball and softball. Her family includes sisters Rachel and Samantha, both students at Christ The King School. Abby's community involvement includes volunteering with younger CKS children in various capacities. She also enjoys camping, canoeing and sports.

Other recipients include Ashleigh Fraim, a Senior at Pope John Paul II High School, and Roxanna Pita-Romero, a Senior at St. Cecilia Academy. The NCBWL awards its scholarship at each school once every four years and provides support for all four years of high school. The scholarships are named in memory of Aurelia Varallo Mariani, a 1951 graduate of St. Cecilia Academy.

Roxanna Pita-Romero has been named the recipient of the Nashville Catholic Business Women’s League (NCBWL) scholarship at St. Cecilia Academy. She is the daughter of Alicia and Fernando Arguello of Brentwood. The scholarship is awarded based on academic, extra-curricular and other personal qualifications. Roxanna is a sophomore student transfer from Coral Reef High School in Miami, FL.

Roxanna is involved with soccer, the Spanish Club and the French Club at St. Cecilia. Her family, including her parents and brothers Fernando, 7, and Andrea, 5, are parishioners at Cathedral of the Incarnation. Roxanna’s community involvement includes work with assisting immigrants in their transition to life in the United States.
